DTR: Keone Madrid

Since this will be the first DTR (Dance Teacher Rating) post, I thought I’d start it off with one of the more obvious selections on who to rate: Keone Madrid. Probably one of the most sought out choreographers around the world today, he’s been doing big things the past 2 years. How does he rate as a teacher?

Keone does a good job of making the class go at a nice steady pace. Not too fast, not too slow. He was prepared and the class seemed much shorter than it was. Learning eight eight counts never seemed to go by so fast.

• Atmosphere = 5

He’s funny and when he speaks, everyone listens.

• Helpfulness = 5

He broke down the moves very well, and he took the time to answer every question. I could tell that he loves what he does.

• Overall = 15

If he’s teaching an hour from where you live, GO TAKE HIS CLASS! He is one of those rare choreographers who will teach you an amazing routine and teach it well with laughter on the side. He’s always traveling so make sure you’re well-informed!
